People today expect a multi media experience when being presented to. A smooth polished presentation will give a smooth polished organised image.
Why PowerPoint? Because PowerPoint is a communication medium that every business can run but not necessarily create with effect.
Millions of people use PowerPoint to accompany their presentation. Unfortunately millions of people also use this medium as speaker notes rather than an aid to engage their audience, enabling retention of the chosen message. Presentations, as I am sure you have seen, are usually 20 to 30 slides each with series of 5, 6 or even 7 bullet points. Sometimes these bullet points even appear one at a time! All are read by the audience, pre-empting what the speaker will say, and until they are read the speaker's message isn't being listened to and the point is lost.
